TMJ: Symptoms ?

mfd
A dentist has recently diagnoised me as having a case of TMJ. I will need to get my wisdom teeth out, and then get 4-hours of work at the dentist that will put my jaw in the place it should be, then I have to get a thing to put in my mouth for 3 months (I forget what it is called, it's not a bite-plate), if it improves the symptoms I will need braces. My question is, with TMJ are you supposed to get the feeling or dis-connected from the world, like a dream-like feeling all the time. It feels like I am getting dumber each day, I am not sure if it's connected. I have constant headaches (TMJ related), stomach pains , trouble breathing (Mucus in lungs), and my bladder burns and when I urinate it does burn. Those would not be TMJ related, and I have no clue what they are.

Might want to check to see if you have an allergy to the materials that the tmj mouth device is made of.   There are a couple of reputable companies in Colorado that do the testing via shipping a blood sample to their lab.  You can also find out what dental materials you are compatible with so your not putting a burden on your bodys health in the future.  I have heard that you can actually help reverse the burden on your body by taking the incompatible materials out of your mouth and replacing them with compatible materials (done by a good and safe dentist).  Can be expensive but may be worth it.  The testing can cost between $150 to 250.00.

You certainly can get headaches as a symptom of TMJ dysfunction. I don't think your other medical symptoms are associated with your TMJ.I think a visit to your MD would be in order.

I might look into the nti-tss device before doing anything drastic (unless you've already had a second opinion). http://www.headacheprevention.com/
