I had another issue. Whether by massive anxiety or by a reaction to Carbocaine of some sort, or both together, I was not able to have my lower-left wisdom tooth extracted today. This is the second time in two years this happens. The first time it was lidocaine with epinephrine; this time it was carbocaine without epinephrine.
I think the reaction resulted in slight chest tightness even. As I told the doctor, he stopped the surgery (he had not started it yet) and sent me to my primary doctor to get cardiac clearance.
I am 29 and have never had any heart problems. I do have partial block of the right leg of the His cluster, but this supposedly occurs in 20% of people and is not considered an illness, the only contradiction being I could never be a professional athlete. I had never before encountered any heart-related issues.
So I would be delighted to be able to write about post-operative pain or even have some to some degree, but I don't!!!
Hope this makes you feel better about getting through your wife's post-operative pain.

It certainly can be depending on the difficulty of the extraction and whether there was an infection present at the time of the extraction. It also can be related to the age of the patient and medications she might be taking.
