Adderall side effects not experienced with previous use

I am 20 and was prescribed 20mg Adderall (10 in AM 10 at noon) daily about a year ago. I only take it when I have classes and sometimes at work, and I was not taking it very regularly the past 2 months. About a month ago, I started having attacks of dizziness, sweating, near fainting, and confusion about two hours after the second dose (sometimes after the first). I noticed this more on days I didn't eat for several hours at a time, and the dizziness usually improved after eating. W/ doctor supervision, I stopped taking the Adderall for three weeks and experienced no dizziness or confusion, but ADHD symptoms were very bad. I prefer not taking the medicine, but it has been very beneficial in getting me to go back to school and start college, and it's been the only one that didn't make me nauseaus or depressed. Two weeks ago, I started taking the Adderall again (same dosage) and had only one incident of slight dizziness that went away as soon as I ate something. However, yesterday, I had a sudden attack of vertigo, extreme dizziness, and confusion, later followed by nausea and vomiting. This occured about two hours after taking the second dose of Adderall. Yesterday was a very busy day at work and I had not eaten anything since breakfast about six hours earlier. I don't know if this is tied to the Adderall because I once had an inner ear infection with somewhat similar symptoms, but my doc is not in for the next four days, and I am still feeling dizzy a whole 24 hours later! Of course I have not taken the Adderall today and I have eaten regular meals, but I still feel a little dizzy and slightly confused at times, mainly when I get up. And one other thing- since yesterday, everything has tasted really bland or really salty. What should I do?  Please help; I hate this feeling!!

Hi, I'm a 22 year old female, also taking Adderall, and my jaw about hit the floor when I read your account -- I had the EXACT SAME story from beginning to end... but, that was a few months ago, and no thanks to the help of my doctors (yes, numerous doctors), I've come up with a regimen of sleep/food/drink that gives me results as great as when I first started the medication.  I'd really, really like to discuss this with you... to help you out, as well as for my own learning.  Please email me at ***@****, as I am anxious to share ideas.

Take care hon',

This stimulating drug should no longer be in your body so it is unlikely it is the cause of your current symptoms. You might ask your doctor to check your blood pressure before you take adderal again.
