Switch from Cymbalta to 5-HTP
I'd like to switch from taking 30mg of Cymbalta twice a day to 5-HTP. I just lost my job so I won't be able to see my doctor right now. is there a safe way to make this switch over the next couple of weeks?
I've done some research and have read about serotonin syndrome. As I taper the Cymbalta, can I start to take 5-HTP?

The standard approach to stopping this kind of a medication is to do it over a three week period....first week, lower dose to lowest possible once a day; second week, that dose every other day; third week, that dose every third day, then stop. You should be doing this with the knowledge of your physician, I can only tell you the standard approach.
