Antibacterial and antifungal cocktail

Hi there,

Just wondering if you could possibly advise on the following:

Was using:
- phIsoHex 1% wash (1% w/v triclosan) for three weeks; predominantly on my face but a bit everywhere else too
- Advantan (1mg Methylprednisolone Aceponate in 1g), cream - small amount on face only
- Hydrosole cortisone cream on genitals to treat a suspected yeast infection

About 4 days ago I started having a slightly irritated scrotum, and (thinking it was the yeast infection) dosed it heavily with the hydrosole. In hindsight I have probably been exceeding the recommended 2-3 per day reccommended use of the hydrosole but have only on that one occasion applied it to my scrotum.

For the last few days I've noticed the following symptoms:

* very red scrotum, with defined boundaries on this discolouration
* red sore penis head
* occasionally periods where I feel as though all the nerve endings all over my body are firing up; especially on my upper back and on the back of my hands; at these times a redish rash appears on my back

It seems as though this last symptom occurs most after applying the hydrosole, though I could be just imagining that.
Does it sound as though I may be having an allergic reaction to any of these drugs, or are they all pretty inocuous?
I've since stopped using all of them, but the red scrotum remains.

Thanks,
Steve

These sound like the symptoms of anxiety, not of overdose.  Yeast infections don't produce symptoms all over either.  As for redness fo the scrotum, that often lasts for months after ay sort of infection or just plain irritation.  I usually advise ignoring it and not applying any active medication--certainly nothing four times a day--since doing that just perpetuates the redness and intensifies the anxiety associated with it.  I can't tell from your post whether it's you who suspects the yeast or whether a doctor has expressed concern.  My recommendation in wither case is to stop all active treatments and let a doctor have a look.  I can't see that you have anything to lose by doing that, and your current practices are very possibly counterproductive.

Best.

Got a feeling I may have overdosed on these.. In my anxiety and general impatience was applying the hydrosole about 4 times a day in liberal doses to my genitals and the advantan 2 or 3 times, again quite liberally to my face. (Argh stupidity over now, not using these any more.. at least not in excess of indicated dosages)

Saw the symptoms of corticosteroid overdose here:
http://www.drugs.com/enc/corticosteroids-overdose.html

Would the topical application of excessive doses of these (relatively weak?) corticosteroids likely be enough to cause these sorts of symptoms (in particular the burning/itching/dry skin, all over one's body and sleepiness)?
