Big Brown Patch on thigh after first time tanning?

First time I went tanning I used a tanning oil. I am mixed race with light skin but was in there a little longer than I should have been by a couple minutes. Well when I got out my tan was glorious. Until I got home and noticed a pancake size discoloration (brown) in blotches in one spot on my thigh. No lie, it made me so nervous and sick to my stomach. I do not have any health insurance and I am not able to get it checked out but any ideas on what this could be? Haven't been back tanning since. This was a few months ago and it's still there. Only faded a little bit.
