Butt Rash

I'm a young, teenage boy. I've had a red rash between my butt cheeks and on my gooch for a couple months. Its very itchy on and off during the day. It used to bleed when i scratched it but stopped bleeding about 2 weeks ago. I've tried putting anti-itch cream on it but it only helps for a short amount of time. What do you think I should do?

Thank you very much but it itches a lot more when i get it too wet

Hello,
It can be due to fungal infection or balanitis. Wash the area daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day. and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.
