Contact Dermamitis

One night when I was 14 I shaved my stomach and cut it by mistake, over night I remember itching it and waking up to a rash that gotten worse over a week, I never went to go get it treated because it eventually went away on its.  I'm 18 now and I have had the same rash is the same location about 5 to 6 times since then,                 the rash is located a little below my belly button the skin there is darker and shiny.  I wouldn't be concerned with the rash if it wasn't located above my private area, I'm just concerned about it spreading to that area.  I did go see a dermatologist and she gave me Fluticasone propionate ointment, 0.005% for it and it helped.  But my question is am I going to have to deal with these flareups for the rest of my life or will this get better with age?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis, folliculitis, staph infection or eczema rash. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites).

I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist so as to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you for your response to my question, nest time I go to the dermatologist I'll have them do a patch test.
