rash on pelvis

maybe 4 months ago i started to get a little rash on my groin where the pelvis and thigh meet, well i thought  nothing of it, its just heat rash. so i let it be, after a while it got worse and i showed my father, he said it was heat rash, so i thought it would just go away, but it hasn't, in fact it has spread. for a while i thought it was fungus of some sort so i used fungus spray, it didnt work, so now i am worried cause it has spread to having to half circle on my thighs that are the same lenght(up and down) as my pelvis. the rashes itches something fierce too, i just dont know what it is and what i should do to get rid of it. i know its not an STD cause i am a virgin. so can you help?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
One of the possibilities for your symptoms is tinea cruris. It is caused by fungal infection of the groin. Wash the area and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. It is important that the skin is not damp because the damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day.

Also apply topical antifungals like Lamisil or Monistat once the diagnosis is confirmed.  Severe cases may need oral antifungals for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
