Finger lesions then joint swelling and now discoloration

I would appreciate your thoughts on what the rashes could be on my fingers.

I have added a photo to my profile to show you what it looks like. Unfortunately I cannot add any more which would show what it initially looked like as I receive an error when trying to load more photos.

About a month ago I noticed a pimple like lesion on 3 fingers on my right hand. I then experienced swelling on the finger joints and now just discoloration on the fingers as shown.

It is not painful and they do not itch but it is worrying me as to what it is.

Unfortunately my doctor does not know and there is a 6 month wait to see a dermatologist in my area.

Interestingly 12 months ago I had a similar rash although not as pronounced with the same symptoms on the same fingers and my doctor at that stage suggested it may have been contact dermatitis but there was no obvious cause so he was not confident and suggested trying a corticosteroid cream. It eventually cleared up after 3 weeks.

Any thoughts?
