red dots

Hi, i thought this website might help with my recent notice and question before I go to the doctor. So recently, I've started noticing small bright red dots in the crotch area and going down the medial side of my thighs down to my knee. They are not lumps or have any different texture whatsoever. What could they be?

It went away after a week so I think it was just some contact dermatitis. Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This redness can be due to fungal infection or contact dermatitis. Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and do not share other people’s towels.

Treatment for both is entirely different. I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and get this rash assessed so that specific treatment(antifungals or corticosteroids) can be started.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
