hey, i am asian and yeah..asian does have a lot of home treatment coz we doesnt have clinic or doctor long time ago. i think u should try garlic.
anyway, not to eat it but just apply the garlic on ur skin...the one with tinea
Yea I read that works. But actually I think what I have isn't a reoccurence of tinea versicolor. Infact it looks more like jock itch. I made a new topic on it if you know what works with that?
Hello,
Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Jock itch or Tinea cruris is also a fungal infection but it causes itching or a burning sensation in the groin area, thigh skin folds or anus.It does not cause rash on the chest and arms.
The itchy rash that you are having can be due to Tinea versicolor or Tinea corporis. The treatment of both is antifungal medicines. You can get over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.
If the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Ok well here is an update. What I have now is almost 100% sure to be jock itch. The reason I thought it was tinea versicolor is because I had a severe breakout of it when I was around 15 years old. (I'm 22 now) I looked at some pictures of jock itch in the groin which is where I have the rash and it is a perfect match from looks.
I've been applying alcohol the kind you use for cuts and scrapes. I read on a google search this can make the rash go away but not sure it. For now, getting rid of the rash would be good enough for me. Something to note is that the rash did expand a very short bit down my thigh but for the past 5 months or so it hasn't expanded rather stay the same. It also appears to almost rub off when I try off with a towel or apply alcohol to it with a dry rag. Both patchs are around 4 inches long and wide.
Now the last thing I want to mention is there is no itching, only heat from the rash. Is this normal? Is it possible to have jock itch in the groin without itching?
