How to strengthen sensitive skin?

What are good topicals to use to thicken and strengthen thin skin on sensitive areas of the body? I have already tried emu oil and some vitamin C & E creams with minimal improvement, however I don't want to use Retin-A because I believe it could be too harsh for this skin. To be specific the skin is not as elatsic and firm as it once was and seems weaker, maybe partially due to previous overuse of certain topical medications. What else can I apply that would be safe to use on areas of the body where the skin is already thin, yet significantly improve that skin's elasticity and strength, without causing any further irritation to such sensitive skin?

Thanks for your response doctor. However, can you give me any specific names of products that you would recommend for this? Or is there anything else that can be prescribed "medication-wise" besides Retin-A that would safely yet effectively treat damaged/weakened skin on sensitive areas of the body?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? There are many products available in the market today that claims to strengthen sensitive skin.  If you try new products, it is recommended that you try one at a time a week apart to be able to identify the product that may not be suited for you. Before taking any medication such as Retin-A, discuss with your attending physician first for proper management. Drinking plenty of fluids may help and avoiding products that contain fragrances, colorants, formaline and formaldehyde-based preservatives to avoid any adverse reaction. Hope this helps. Take care and do keep us posted.
