Looks like a cigar burn and itches. What could it be?

I woke up one morning with my side itching, as my partner examined it, he told me it looks like a cigar burn. Which it isn’t but is round, red, and looks like a burn, but isn’t. We put a baking soda and water paste on it, seem to make it stop itching, and burning. But really would like to know what it could be? We have house spiders and three dogs in house, could it be the cause of this?

I'm not sure, but I did find this past post from someone asking a very similar condition and one of the dermatologists that you used to be on the site has a pretty good answer, check out this post- and I hope it helps!
