Melenoma In situ

I had a mole removed one month ago. It was melenoma in situ. The Dermatologist sent me to a surgeon to have a larger margin taken. They tell me that all is well but I should be checked every three months. I feel almost a panic not knowing what to expect. One week after the last surgery the glands in my neck became very swollen and sore. I don not have a sore throat but pressure in my ears. Could this be related ? I don't want to run to the Dr. with every little thing but I don't want to let something go. I can't even sleep with this worry all the time could you relate some news about melenoma in situ?

I want to find out what this means & if it needs to be removed entirely if there is a slight margin left?

Don't worry so much, Deb.  Melanoma-in-situ means that it didn't even get to be a real melanoma.  Being checked every few months is all you'll ever likely have to do.  As time goes by, you're bound to get more and more comfortable.  If you're that panicked, you might want to speak to your primary doctor about medication or therapy to tide you over.

Relax, Deb.  You'll be fine.

Best.
