Multiple Vaginal Boils after Waxing

About three months ago, I decided to obtain a Brazilian Bikini Wax.  All was well the first two weeks, but then I begin to see hair pumps.  A lot.  By the way, I am African American.  Anyway, the hair bumps turned into one big boil on the upper pubic area.  I immediately went to the doctor.  I was told that I probably received a bacteria infection from the wax and was prescribed some sort of antibiotic. But a couple days later I was in so much pain, I went back to the doctor.  I was told to stop taking the medicine and was prescribed another 7 day antibiotic and told not to get waxed ever again. (Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the first two prescriptions) I sat in warm water, used warm towels, and then I used baking soda on the boil and this really worked quickly to bring the boil to a head.  It drained.  The experience was just horrible.  The boil was huge and drained a lot for about a week.  I had this boil for about a month. All was well until about four weeks later when another boil serviced.  I went back to the doctor and was prescribed Tetracycline.  I was also told that I now had three vaginal warts in the area which were removed. (FYI- About ten years ago, I had two vaginal warts and they were removed.  I never had another problem with hem until now. For years, my paps would come back irregular, but for the past two, they have been normal).  My doctor also had me tested for diabetes. While taking the tetracycline last week, the second much smaller boil began to go away, but never drained, just went down.  I can still see it at the bottom left vaginal opening.  But, its going away, so I was happy, until earlier this week when ANOTHER boil surfaced , now between my buttocks. I went to the doctor again.  This time, I am freaking out.  I ask to see all of my test results, I ask if I have herpes, I'm crying, and having a fit!  They did not care. I was told that all of my tests were negative.  I don't have diabetes and my pap was regular and that because of this, I was not tested for HPV.  I was told that boils are normal and I should not worry about it, just sit in warm water and let it drain. No big deal.  I have never had a boil, let alone one on my vagina.  So, receiving three so close together is very worrisome.  I read on this site to clean the area with Hibiclens, and use Bacitraycin.  I purchased both today.  But I am still very scared.  Do you know what this problem can be caused from?  What type of test should I ask for?  Should I ask to take the medicine again?  I'm so worried.  Does this have anything to do with the waxing?  Please help me.  Thank you for your advice in advance

im so late and am not even sure you still have this problem, but have you been tested for MRSA? A staph infection that is very resistant to certain strains of antibiotics. Anyways, if you are MRSA postive, boils are one indicator BIG indicator.

I get reoccuring boils on the front of my vagina, especially after I have a full bikini wax.  My nurse said that they may be caused by ingrowing hair, which happens after the hair has been pulled from the root and tries to grow back.  She suggested a cream (the name I cannot remember) I said I was sick of creams, so she suggested an ointment - 'Fucidin Ointment'.  It really helps to stop swelling and it dries the boils out.  I started to see an effect after about two nights of a very light application.

This only helps, once the boils appear.  I still get them very often and have not yet found anything to prevent them, or anything to prevent them after I have had a wax.

Ladies, I know this is very embarrassing and extremely uncomfortable.  I am 23 and I have been getting them since I was about 15 - before becoming sexually active and before I ever shaved completely or had a wax.

Try the ointment I mentioned above, it is very mild, odourless and effective (for me).  I don't know if it will work on everyone though.  I hope this helps :)

Good Luck! x

I know I'm a little late. But I get thse boils; Multiple at a time. Most recently they went from a bunch of little pimples to a bunch of boils. (I think from shaving) The pimples were very painful. They are drying up now but very ugly to see the skin peel around it. I have been to multiple dr.'s but have yet to find effective treatment or a diagnosis. One dermatologist poked a hole in it to drain and that one has never come back but now it seems I have a permanent hole there. But I have been on the treatment of Hibiclins and antbiotics but nothing seems to CURE this horrible maddness. Very embarassing and frustrating. I hope I don't have to live with this for the rest of my life. I have been getting them since before I was sexually active so I know it's not herpes. I wish someone could figure this mess out.

How are you doing now? How did you apply the baking soda?  I have recently got one as well with no idea what is going on. My doctor spent about 45 seconds in the exam room with me so I am not happy.....

I also get boils down there and on other parts of my body.  I use Tea Tree Oil when I can it helps.  This stops the boils from getting so big.  I also have a slow thyroid.  Watch what you eat.

Good luck
