Hi!
Last night I woke up and as I was stretching my arms I happened to feel something unusual exactly at the same spot you show here! I was scared poopless because of so many horrible diseases, I had a terrible time getting back to sleep again. I got up and put some iodine on the lump and in the morning repeated and then made a malva leaf bandage which I've been wearing all day.
I'm glad yours went down fast.
Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hey, thanks for the advice... last 2 days I have applied dove soap around the arena whilst showering.. and that worked very well.. the size has gone down dramatically and is only quite small in size now.

Thanks again for the help :)

Hello,
From the symptoms and picture it looks like a boil.  Boils are caused by infection of the hair follicle by staph aureus. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection.

Apply warm compresses and topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
