psoriasis treatment

O.K., so my Psoriasis has been in remission for some time. Then, about a month ago, I go out for some "light therapy" which in my world means to spend a few hours at the beach. I end up talking to a friend a little longer than usual, lying on my stomach. So, I get a pretty bad burn on my lower back. Now, a month later, I have little red bumps of Psoriasis on my lower back. This leads me to believe that it was actually TRIGGERED by the sun. Not helped by it. Question is this: besides diet and homeopathic treatments, will jumping into any kind of salt water several times a week help? I know that the Dead Sea Salt is supposed to be a remedy, but I live on the Gulf (FL) and the beach is right here. There's nothing like a Psoriasis breakout to ruin your sex life!!! Does anyone have this kind of info? The dermatologist has been of little help.

Sun is good, but like anything else in life it's good in moderation. If you get sun burn it will trigger an outbreak, before you get "light therapy" apply  sunscreen with an high SPF.

Hi,

Psoriasis is generally a disease of the skin and leads to development of patches of well defined scaly, flaky areas on the skin. Areas involved usually are knees, elbows, shin and extensor portions of the body.

There are many modalities of treatments available including, steroids and other local applications, PUVA and other phototherapies.

'Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like Topicort Desoximetasone), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids are routinely used.'

There are other measures to be taken and your doctor can tell you more about it.

I get the same little pimples due to sweat in the same area and others. Doctor said it was "Prickly Heat". Treadted with A + D ointment. Gone!  OH! Your break-out being in the small of your back wouldn't bother me sexually. BUT! In another intimate area it would.....
