Question about mole

Hi, I'm 25 years old and during my annual physical last week, my physician referred me to a dermatologist to look at some of my moles.

The one I guess I'm primarily concerned about is one that I've had pretty much as long as I can remember (I was 7 when I first noticed it). It's slightly bigger than a pencil eraser, raised, but hasn't really ever changed in size. It has 4-5 hairs growing out of it, and is fairly uniform in color--though it is perhaps a little darker in the center than around the sides. It's fairly symmetrical (i'd say more oval than round), and has clear borders.

Should I be overly concerned about this mole?

Hello,
If the mole is uniform in color, size and shape then you should not be worried about it. Melanomas are usually >6 mm in size, with irregular borders ,asymmetrical and dark in color. So chances are less hat this is a melanoma.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

it sounds that it's good that it's uniform in color and that it hasn't changed, some Derm's want to take a look just to be sure. your Dermatologist may want to remove it to test for any cancer cells, I suggest you go on what your dr suggests.
