So my dermatologist said that I basically have staph forever and will have to treat it as needed. Staph lives on everyone and it just seems to thrive on certain people.
Is this a proper diagnosis? If so, why is staph happening to me now?
I was diagnosed with a staph infection and took medicine for about a week to two weeks. On the last day of the medication I noticed some red dots again on my skin. This is very discouraging since the red dots were away and my private area was not irritated. I felt like a "normal" person. I hope my doctor knows why the medicine didn't work.
Thanks for the help. I have a doctors appointment coming up soon and will let you know what they say.
Hello,
These can be due to irritated hair follicles, cyst or folliculitis skin. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. Also please consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
