Redness on face

Hello, Basically for the last 7 or 8 years (im 19 now) I have had redness on my face. It is on my chin not all of it just the centre, my cheeks, and my nose and a tiny bit on the forehead. My nose is the worst. My face tends to go very red if I'm embarrassed or have hot flushes. It does not itch, and is not raised or flaky. I also have very oily skin and my skin does not get dry very often.

I went to a skin specialist (that does laser treatments, peels etc) and the man said to be it seems like it is rosacea. Is this possible that I have it with just redness and nothing else? and also is it possible to get it at such a young age!?
I was really tempted to get laser done, but its so expensive and not sure if It will make any difference..

Im so fed up of my skin now, if i don't have foundation on I look awful, it makes me look like a have awful bags too because the skin below my eyes is paler. I hate taking my make up off and seeing my skin its just depressing. Im going on a girls holiday in july, and to be honest I would really love to get it under control before I go.

Has anyone got any tips on how I can control my redness using herbal remedies or creams or anything!?

I would really appreciate the help

Thanks,Vicky Best

Thank you for the reply ! Thats such a shame that the IPL does not last, i think I'll have to try the natural way.

Is there any way I can go to the dermatologist straight away or not? I know you normally have to get referred which means I'll have to try all the doctors stuff out first which i doubt will work :(

It sounds like rosacea .  I have suffered from the acne like version for years.
IPL helped me but is very expensive and the rosacea comes back ....

Rosacea can be simply redness like what you have or small blisters on checks, or acne like bumps. It will leave broken veins on face as you age. It is a very frustrating disorder.  I am using Renova and a sulfa lotion as antibiotics are  not an option. And this combo is working.

I did go through a course of IPL treatments: great results, but the condition came back within a year, so I can't afford that type of remedy.

Rosacea is an inherited condition, and altho' it is depressing to have and hard to control, a good dermatologist is your best ally.
