I used to get exzema on occassion and doc would provide steroid cream - worked but returned. Turns out that ex is caused by too much spicy and fried food and coffee. I got off that and it went away. Accupuncture helps balance the system and underlying problem that creates the condition. Have been free of ex for over a decade, but moved to remote area where most food is fried and drinking coffee again. After a couple years of that, it's returning. Skin ailments are most often sign of toxicity...if the kidneys or colon can't get rid of it, the body throws the toxin out via the skin. If we humans would just stick to the food nature provides and stop adding artificial chemicals and toxins, the body will heal itself.
I also had the same problem for years. Went to a dermatologist, tried every cream from moisturizer to hydrocortisone, nothing helped. I had gone to a orthopaedics for my back and was given steroid meds. It didn't help my back but literally stopped the itching. When the steroid finally came out of my system it started right back up. Waking me out of a sound sleep to itch. I had my fingers and top of my hands bleeding. Well I had to go back to the orthopedic for upper dural for my lower back and then again a cortisone shot . Both times didn't help my back but stopped the itching. So I went to my primary doctor and got steroid cream. All I can say what a relief. Have no clue what I have, don't wish it on anyone else. My son also has it, he to went to many doctors no help. He is using the steroid cream, hands are much better. I really hope this helps.
It sounds crazy banana peel thing works....it did for me, too.
My doc said it was a type of neuropathy but I don't buy it. It seems whenever there's something they don't want to take the time to figure out they say it's due to my diabetes, therefore, neuropathy. My feet are fine and my glucose counts are within being acceptable so it has to be something else going on. If there is no banana available, I find my self rubbing the arms of my chair like crazy to get some relief from the itchiness.
I have this problem but my doctor told me to take allergic relief .I take it as soon as my hands starts to itch and with in a 1/2 hour it stops itching.
You should try it.
