WHAT IS THIS???

My 13 year old daughter had an "episode" that the doctor thinks is dermographisin (the doctor saw pictures I took). She has never had anything like this happen to her before.  I WAS WITH HER THE WHOLE TIME  (I even took pictures and video) while it was happening.  It started all of a sudden, while she was naked and getting ready to take a bath.  She WAS NOT ITCHING when it happened, and she NOT ONCE TOUCHED HER SKIN IN ANY WAY.  She came to me crying saying that she felt as if someone scrathed her in the side of her buttock.  When she looked, she got really scared to see the scratches (it looked exactly like she said it felt; as if somebody had scratched her really hard).  From there it just kept happening all over her body (arms, back, stomach, buttocks, and legs).  It lasted for a couple of hours.  It was really bad and very scary.

My main question is; Can this happen without prior itching and WITHOUT ANYTHING TOUCHING YOUR SKIN?    PLEASE HELP!!!

A very concerned Mom

Yes it can , I have it , once the skin is marked it will itch , but it goes away as quickly as it came, I too get it every where, I live in South CA and I have thought the heat hasnt helped but I dont think that triggered it, I also get Urticaria, (Hives) is she allergic to anything else as this seems to be where it comes from, they give you anti Histimines that made me worse so now I am researching on the internet ,Tell your Daughter not to worry as I think and hope it may leave as quickly as it came,Try the Tes  Run a pencil ,emery board or anything with just a little pressure down the inside of her arm, with Derma graphism it will come up as a raised itchy ,tingly, straight or curved line in a min or two, then go away.I havent found a cure yet but I will post my findings here, I have had this almost 3months.
