scrotal itch and red bumps

Strange question but, I've had an intense itch on the right side of my scrotum that becomes very intense.  It occasionally flakes and recently I've noticed four red bumps around the base of my penis with no itch or pain.  I'm wondering if it's just something as simple as an irritation or a yeast infection or something before I rush off to the doctor

Thank you for the information.  I went to an urgent care for more information.  The itching has gone down but the bumps around the pelvis and base remain.  I was told it could be something like swollen glands but it's been about 3 months and there hasn't been much change.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This itching can be due to jock itch, eczema or due to neurodermatitis. What you need to do is consult a dermatologist and get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings of the scrotum and a biopsy of small skin sample done. KOH examination of the area will clarify whether it is fungal infection or not.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Try a course of Lotrimin cream first.  If you have athlete's foot, treat that also.  Wash underwear and socks in hot with Tide and baking soda.  Towels and sheets too.
