What is this big mole?

Is this benign or should I have it checked out?

It is brown, about 1.5 cm x .7 cm, oval and about .4 cm high.

I've had it for about 4 years now. One day it suddenly appeared, and one doctor said it was some sort of fibroma. It doesn't itch, it doesn't usually hurt, but because it is on my waist it becomes uncomfortable when the waist line of my pants compresses it.

You have not mentioned since how long this has been present. If it is present for a long time then definitely you need to get melanoma ruled out. Melanoma has an irregular border, is asymmetrical, uneven color and increasing in size. They are usually >6 mm in size,with irregular borders ,asymmetrical and dark in color.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
