Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

Based on the photograph and description you provided, it is possible that you have developed contact dermatitis caused by something that was put on the skin,  (for example, topical products, bandages, etc.).

In such a case, the most important step is to remove that provoking factor. Topical corticosteroids might be needed to help with inflammation. Talk with your physician about it.

However, biopsy area is an area of damaged skin (possible entering point for microbes), more susceptible for infection (manifested with redness, etc.). Skin swab culture is a helpful diagnostic tool to be utilized to prove or exclude skin infection.
