Hi
These blood blisters may be cherry angiomas or an underlying bleeding disorder. Firstly, the cause of this blood blister has to be ascertained. Cherry angiomas may be expected in the elderly and they do not need further intervention. As for possible bleeding disorders, these may be assessed through evaluation of platelet count, PT and aPTT. If aspirin is being used then these parameters have to be assessed.
When I bump my arm or rub it against something, even scratch through my clothing I get these blood stained looking blood blisters on my arms, not anywhere else though just my arms. They don't hurt or anything but I am only 54 yrs old and I've seen these marks on elderly womens arms as well. Is this a vitamin deficency?

Debbie
