Skin peeling

My husband has patches of blackheads on his face & the Dr has said they are caused by sun damage. The are very unsightly & just seem to spread.

We wonder if skin peeling may help to get rid of them.

Would anyone know please?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

For the blackheads, cleanse the area thoroughly and apply a good mild exfoliating scrub on that. Apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

For the skin darkening, you can try various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids or tretinoin cream.Apply hydroquinone cream on the scars and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.
