HPV Misdiagnosis?

I recently went to the urologist to have a cyst checked out. Everything went well with that, but I had a bump on the underside of my shaft checked just for general purpose. The bump is barely raised, a little larger than a sharpie marker tip, pink in color, soft, and almost looks like a mole. When the skin is stretched the color leaves the bump and is almost visible. The urologist took one look and said it was a condyloma. I about having a biopsy done, and the doctor said there is no need that he could freeze it off. I asked well how do you know that is what it is, and he stated that if it did not freeze off then it is not a wart. Should I get a second opinion. The bump has been there for a few years, and I always thought it was a mole. I am very active, run about 20 miles a week. Me and my wife have been together for about two ears and she has not had any signs in her pap smears or std checks.

So my questions, if it is not a wart then what else could it possbly be, and should I get another opinion?

Hello,
Seborrehic keratosis are light tan to black. They are round, flat or slightly elevated, and range in size from very small to more than 2.5 centimetres. A biopsy can help in differentiating both as they may resemble warts.
Hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Thank you for the quick response. I read a little about seborreheic keratosis. Is it typical for these growths to be pink in color. Also, I am 26 years old. Do people my age get this skin condition? I would like to think it is keratosis as opposed to hpv. I have an appointment with my general care practitioner and I am going to ask about being refered to a dermatologist. I was supposed to go back to the urologist to get cryotherapy done. I guess I will  try to have a biopsy done and hopefully relieve some stress of thinking that I my have an STD. Thanks again.

Hello,
It can be seborreheic keratosis or HPV wart. It is a benign skin growth of keratinocytes. A skin biopsy will be helpful in confirming a diagnosis.
I sincerely suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
