dry skin, itching, irritating, ugly, flaky

Hi all,

I am not sure in which forum i should post my question whether in Fungus, dermatology problems or eczema or skin infections.

I have got small patches (a kind of blisters) on my hand which is very itching, dry and little flaky (but not red) for almost a month. I normally use scrub once in a week and i use body lotion Aveeno daily moisturising lotion and dead sea mud soap from last couple of days. I dont know which ingredient of the product i am allergic to. Before i use these products also i had these kind of patches.  Earlier I was using ponds daily moisturiser and Dettol soap.

Can anyone please suggest me how to overcome these patches. and I feel these are spreading slowly.I am very much worried and looks ugly on my hand.

Please respond.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to dry skin, eczema or psoriasis skin. The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water but use the moisturizer immediately after taking bath. Soap should be used minimally. Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day. You can also use a topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment like dermacort (hydrocortisone). Adding a humidifier to the central heating system of your home or using a humidifier also helps.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
