rash one side of inner thigh, buttock area

I am female,  and I first pain and redness in the buttock (crack) area. It felt like it was cracked and on the verge of bleeding. Then it also turned into a rash on one side of the inner thigh that is red and itches. There are no bumps, odor etc but I can't get it to go away. I have been dealing with it for almost 2 weeks now and am at a loss as what to do. I try to dry it off really good, I have been using cortizone cream, gold bond, neosporin etc but it's not going away. When I used the goldbond, it tended to dry the area out too much and there was slight bleeding. The buttock area has seemed to go away, then come back. It is very painful and red. The thigh area doesn't seem to be clearing up at all no matter what I do. I switched to wearing only cotton panties too. Help!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Your symptoms can be due to intertrigo. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore.

Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical zinc oxide cream like Sudocrem, Desitin are very helpful(apply with a paper towel and not directly with hands).Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps. For the itching please take some over the counter antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
