Ever since I was in middle school, I have had what appears to be poor circulation. Regardless of my diet, activity level, level of sun exposure, weight, smoking habits etc, when I stand for more than 10 minutes or so, I get honeycomb vein patterns on my legs. It is REALLY unattractive. I have not worn a pair of shorts in public for almost 8 years now.
I attached a picture taken in normal light, although the discoloration is much easier to see if the brightness/contrast is altered to lower the midtones.
Again, although right now I am very pale and a bit overweight at the moment, I promise that the problem persists even when I am tan, and definitely even when I am exercising very regularly and at a healthy weight.
My mother has similar problems with her legs, and both of us bruise like tomatoes. While both my mom and I do also suffer from varicose and spider veins, this is NOT what my question is about. I am trying to determine the cause of (and hopefully treat) the all-over reddish honeycomb pattern. Has anyone heard or seen or experienced this? People have suggested endless remedies (getting more sun, changing diet to include more iron, wearing special circulation stocking things, exercising more, shaving in a different direction etc) but NOTHING has worked.
The ONLY consistent thing I have observed about it is that when I wake up in the morning (after lying in bed all night) my legs are completely clear (except for some varicose veins, that is). This says to me there is a circulation issue.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK
