9 weeks ago I had brief sexual contact with a college-aged girl. We had sex, but after a few minutes the condom broke and there was penetration. We immediately stopped. 12 days later I had intermittent diarrhea and thought it might be giardia since I drink out of mountain streams sometimes. After 1 week, I developed a fever, muscle pains and aches, and later neck stiffness. I went to the emergency room where they tested me for Malaria (I was in Turkey for 3 weeks a month prior) and Mono, but they sent me home. The Malaria and Mono tests returned negative.
Around 21 days I showed my dr. symptoms of a non-itchy palm and foot rash, which was very red with white splotches inter-mixed. I also had one canker sore on my inner-cheek, which I used to often get as a child. The diarrhea went away but the muscle aches continued. I also have a light pimple rash on my upper chest and back. The skin on my whole body is lightly reddened and with pressure turns white/yellow. Dr. tested me for HIV, HPV, Syphillis, and Hepatitis, all negative.
I visited my doctor twice more for the palm rash, skin redness, and pimples that are still active after 9 weeks. He thinks the palm rash is Raynaud's Phenomena, but I don't think so b/c temperature doesn't change it and there is no other tip discoloration. Muscle aches still. The palm rash comes and goes, depending on whether I am active or where I hold my hands. The rash is the worst when my hands are at my sides while moving. Above my head, the rash nearly goes away. The skin redness sometimes seems a very faint flat rash on chest and inner-arms, but mostly just red.
With research online, I fear HIV. The girl is not the "risky" type. Otherwise, there is still the possibility of Secondary Syphilis also, since both of those STD's can take up to 3 months to test for. I plan on testing at 12 weeks for HIV. I've also considered Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and the more obvious generalized viral bug. However, do viruses last for 9 weeks generally??? Do HIV palmar rashes come and go, or are they more consistent and steady?
Otherwise, I'm just perplexed at the symptoms. I've never had anything like it before. When I look at images online of rashes related to many of the possibilities listed above, the rash in the photos seems much worse than what I have. Sometimes the palms of my hands look pretty bad, but not always. Please, if someone could give me some direction here, it would be much appreciated.
