red penis head

Hi there. The other night I had some oral sex and a couple of handjobs and noticed the next morning that the head of ny penis (im curcumsized) had big red areas in 4 different spots. At the time it was very sore to touch. I went to the doctor and (i live in japan) all i could understand from him was that "there is nothing to worry about", which was/is great, but im still worrying. He gave me a topical steroid called Ridomex or Ridomecks (dont know the spelling in English) and the pain has gone away but the red areas have now gone crusty.
One thing I was thinking about was that I was given the handjob under the blankets. Perhaps there was chaffing and a rug burn? Is it possible that this is herpes? I checked a lot of info online and it says that herpes can appear within 2-20 days, but this appeared like 8 hours later. Still, I am kinda worried.

The other day most of the redness flaked off and then after a few more applications of the topical steroid and a day or so, my penis head seems to be back to normal.
I can breathe a sigh of relief, im guessing?

Hello,

Cosmetic creams should be avoided being appliewd on the rash because if it is a contact dermatitis which it most likely is then it can be aggravated by the condition as yi never know to which ingredient of the cosmetic cream you may be allergic to.Moreover skin should be kept free from heavy moisturizing as they may block the follicles and sebaceous glands and complicate the picture.

oh, yes, ps, i remember the doctor making it very clear not to put stuff like nivea on the are (cause i did and i told him that), and you said a similar thing. why is that?

thanks very much. i think it is getting better. im just hoping it is nothing serious. if it clears up should i forget about it? (i mean, i have heard that some stds like syphillis etc clear up, making the person think he is ok, when in reality he isnt).

Hello,

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to contact dermatitis,sweat dermatitis,heat rash,friction rub of the skin or dermatitis.

Pls do not use any cosmetic product at the site,maintain a good hygiene and apply calamine lotion on this rash.It will help in soothing the skin.Wear cotton and free flowing clothes and avoid sitting for too long.Also change your undergarments twice a day.If there is any itching then oral antihistaminics like benadryl will be useful.You can also apply mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort on the rash.

If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist for a complete clinical examination.

oh, ps, i had the sexual encounter 2 days ago, and now a lot of the crusty-ness has flaked off, but it is still read and still a different texture to the other skin. There is no itchy and the pain is gone. But im still worried!
