skin fungus

i had skin fungus on scrotum started in 07 went to emergency room they took sample of yellow discharge and said it was some kind of fungus gave me cream, cream seemed to clear it up however it never really goes away continues to come back still to this day.  feels like fungus created skin folds as it heeled leaving tightness of the skin and white marks.  also have used vicks vapor rub trying to get rid of the skin folds, when they open back up they are very painful with yellow centers and red outside edges,  the strange thing is these black particles or pebbles pop out of my skin when pulling and stretching outward trying to get rid of these skin folds so that my skin does not feel so tight.  recently took terbinafine which seemed to help some in eliminating the some of  the skin folds and white mark scars.  although i think it is more geared toward nail fungus than skin.  would you suggest a different oral fungus medicine, creams just do not work in eliminating the problem, what could cause these solid black pebbles that can feel under skin

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
In case it is a recurrent fungal infection, then it is advisable to get a KOH examination and fungal culture sensitivity of the skin sample done. Then specific topical antifungals and oral antifungals may be prescribed. For this please consult a dermatologist.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
