Corn

Is corn, chicken, plantain (green banana) good for a Type 2 diabetic?

green banana is full of sugar. Avoid totally.Corn & chicken in moderate quantity(samll portion) in meals is ok.

The chicken is fine as it is protein, but the corn and the plaintains are quite high in carbs for a portion.  Its a starchy vegetable.  Check the glycemic index or a carb counter book.  You can find this info online.  I love corn also, just dont have it to often anymore.

Hi,

These are all natural foods and are ok to eat.  The key is looking at portion size (how much carbs) and making sure that you eat fat, protein and carbs together to slow digestion and keep blood sugars stable.
