Blood Sugar HIGHER after waking up than it is when I go to bed

I'm not diabetic.  I have noticed that several times when I go to bed my blood sugar is around 83.  But then when I take it right after waking up (before eating or drinking anything), it is around 100.   Why is it going up?  There's 6-8 additional hours of fasting...I'd think it'd stay the same or go down a little.

Its called Dawn Phenomenon,  It is your body getting ready for the day.  Your liver releases sugar so your body has energy to get up and go.

Your liver releases sugar so your body has energy to get up and go. Non diabetics have pancreases/insulin that works and there BG wont go over 100 (actually less)

not BAD , but a worning flag that something might be up.  time to start limiting carbs so your pancreas doesnt need to work so hard.
