I am confused

Okay a little history. my dad was a diabetic (he passed away this past January from unrelated illness) I have a rare disease called neurofibromatosis, tumors grow on the nerves of your body, my are not cancerous. I am being treated for SVTs. okay now Cardiologist told me if I have palpatations to try to treat at home if not go to ER if he is off. I was having them and home care wasn't helping so I went ER for some reason they did a UA on me and was told to follow up with my doctor that I had keytones and blood in my urine and test showed no UTI. (I have had a hysterectomy) so I did a week later they re ran the test there was little keytones and blood where they weren't concerned.  re check in June. so now I was told I have growth on my thyroid gland even thought they checked and thyroid level is fine HOWEVER my sugar was very low.
Okay I had keytones (I think that what they are called) and now my sugar is very low, and they say I am fine What do I make of this.
Thank you Michelle

Sounds like you have a complicated medical condition that none of us on this board are qualified to speak to and you should make sure your doctor answers all your questions to your satisfaction. As far as the ketones and the low blood sugar it is easy enough for your doctor to test you for diabetes using a fasting blood sugar, an A1C and if necessary an OGTT test.

Thank you this is very helpful. not to be gross but my urine does have a funny smell. I was told if I am having the SVT issue s to try to arch my neck or bear down. I have to try metroprolo. or something to that effect. he has increased my dig. since my levels keep dropping. they did have to convert me once and that was not a good feeling.
Thank you again for your advice. I will have a follow up about my sugar.

Zoelula gives good advice. You have a comlicated situation best resolved by an evaluation at a teaching hospital.

Keytones have a fruit-like smell. Your urine smells like fresh fruit.

They are produced when all the insulin is used up and the body goes to an alternative means to lower blood sugar levels.

I have to respectfully disagree with the advice of your physician "not to go to the ER".

Wrong advice.

If in doubt, go.

There is no such thing as "the indispensible physician".

On the other hand, he knows that when a patient shows up with SVT's the staff often goes to general quarters, and he has probably concluded that they are not life threatening.

Never follow my medical advice.

That being said, SVT's can sometimes be resolved by deliberate coughing or going to the toilet and straining. Both activities activate the vagus nerve.

geez thanks for the warm welcome I was just merely asking about my sugar levels since usually people will like to know history that is why I put it in there not asking for advice on the other stuff as even my team of doctors are having a hard time with. just wanted to know what you guys thought of having the ketones and low blood sugar. that is all
Guess I will leave now and again thank you for your warm welcome
Um by the way I don't consider your answer to be the best I actually consider your answer to be rude.
you could have started out saying
HI welcome to the board, I can only suggest you ask for a A1C (which I have done once a year)  and as far as the other issues I can't help you there sorry and good luck
but nope good bye

Oh I should mention the last blood test was a non fasting blood test and I had a cup of coffee before I had the test  (that was the only thing I had)
