There are a lot of studies out there that point to certain things being good for you- and it might be very valid, however, it's important over all to not lean too much on something that sounds like it will cure you- it's always best to stick with basics- foods that contain the vitamins and minerals that you know you need, while also not containing too much of the stuff our bodies just don't need.
Be aware of the other conditions you have (for example, if you have a heart condition, you don't want to be ingesting large amounts of oils/fats), and work on having a balanced diet above all.

When used in this context, it can be fine to use. However, your first focus should be on low carb, nutritious foods.
