Have you been sick lately. Being sick (infection etc) can lead to high blood sugars in people with otherwise controlled readings. You should consult your doctor & let him know what has been going on. This is the only way you can find out what is going on.
"i was taking metformin for 20years.."
Interesting as Metformin only been available in the US since late 1995.
Are you taking other medications besides Metformin? When was the last time you saw you doctor and had an A1c test, or your medication adjusted? There is no mention of maintaining proper body weight or daily exercise. Do both to help control glucose levels.
Are you storing your medications at proper temperature ranges? Using them within the allocated time periods not after they have expired? eg; Novalin fast acting has an 'open' shelf life of 45 days.
Hello,
Your diabetes 2 is worsening over the years, 20 years, it is common, my friend. Why? because your doctors conviniently not to mention to you that all oral diabetes medicines, including Metformin, only works for some years and even expensive and painful Insulin dosage will loose their effectiveness over the years. Now, to save yourself from this horrible disease, immediately reduce your carb to (6,12,12).
Read this book : Diabetes Solutions by DR. Richard Beirstein , and log onto this website: diabetesdaily.com/forum to listen and learn from those long time diabetic 2 like you discussions.
To save yourself, you have to search the internet , to learn and live myfriend,
I myself a 20 years plus diabetic 2, now I don't have any leg pain at night , as my A1C keep coming down to 5.6%. and I never need to use Insulin. I use Dr. Beirstein rule:(6,12,12). Again read that book and start living again. Good luck
