Could this be diabetes?

Everytime I get a paper cut, scratch, etc., it takes forever to heal and usually gets worse before it gets better. I also keep getting these painful pimple like bumps under my arms (not from shaving), between my thighs, around my belly. If I try to pop them, (sometimes they have a white head) they almost get infected and get even more red, and irritated. I have had a rash between my legs, unlike heat rash, for 6 months and have found NOTHING to releive it. I read that this could be a sign of diabetes. Does anyone have any idea? I am growing weary from all this and am going to get an appoitment with my Dr. But I just wanted input if there is any.
Thanks

Yes I have seen diabetics with all kinds of rashes or dermitis type things.  Boils are another.  It could be as simple as changing your laundry detergent to allergy free type and or changing your soap to dial....in can be fungi related...its real difficult to say without a physician checking you out.  There is a soap and the name escapes me at the moment but its something like Panocyl ....or something close...sorry I can't think of it now...PanOxyl maybe....try using that, it may help.  I would not jump to diabetes on that alone.

the pimple like bumps sound like in grown hairs....I get them too and they are exactly as you describe them. Are you on any kind of Steroids....even ADVAIR? Because Steroids play a big part in not healing quickly. And finally the rashes you speak of don't sound diabetic related because normally diabetics get lesions on there skin that turn into big open sores rather than rashes.....I've never heard of a diabetic getting a rash that was related to diabetes, and I'm a diabetic myself. you can find out if you have Diabetes just by getting a simple blood test done at your next doctor visit. if you even think you might have diabetes for whatever reason i would get checked out right away before things start happening that are irreversible. It's best to tackle that disease quick. This makes prognosis much better....Well good luck, peace and love!
