Your liver biopsy is done after a local anesthetic is applied to the area. They probably will take it from the lower lobe by the lower ribs. They insert a special syringe type instrument with a spring retraction device. They simply pop the syringe and the needle goes in and back out in a fraction of a second. They had to do mine twice because the first sample didn't stick together in a string. Don't worry! Worry about things you have control over and leave the rest to God.
I HAD THE SAME THING AN ENLARGED LIVER AND ABNORMAL LIVER TESTS THEN HAD A BIOPSY NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL AND FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE PRIMARY SCHLEROSING CHOLANGITIS, NOT TO SCARE YOU BUT GET SECOND OPINIONS ON EVERYTHING!
Thank you hilly, I was worried that they would have to cut me.
I had a biopsy a few years ago and I felt almost nothing. You may feel a little discomfort after but nothing major. Good luck!
