drinks for gerd

I have mild gerd. I can not seem to find anywhere what drinks I can drink, that are not acidic. I found plenty of things not to drink, ie: oj, coffee, tea, etc. But what besides water and skin milk, which I hate, can someone with gerd drink. Also what do you think of the acid reducing additives like coffee tamer, are they safe and usefull? thank you.

Thanks for the banana smoothie recipe.  I am always looking for new ideas of things to drink and this one sounds great since I love bananas.

As we all know....one of the best things for GERD is to reduce acid.  Here is a recipe for a Banana smoothe.
One banbana, peeled and cubed
1 cup water
1 cup ice
1tsp baking powder
2tsp sugar

Makes a great refreshing drink that actually reduces acid.

I have a hiatal hernia and GERD....Yuck!  I LOVE coffee but of course too much acid so I have learned to enjoy drinking herbal teas like peppermint tea, Sleepytime tea, Chamomile and they never bother my stomach.  Celestial Seasons has a nice selection of herbal teas that you could try.  I hate skim milk too but sometimes it is not too bad if you put some Hersheys strawberry syrup in it.  It was very hard for me at first to learn to drink things other than coffee, tea, and Pepsi, but you can get use to other drinks....honest :)  Good Luck!!
