likelihood of stomach cancer?

hello.  about 3 weeks ago i had stomach cramps for one day. they went away and were replaced with nausea.  it does not get better or worse with eating. no vomiting. stools are pretty normal. at the beginning i did have some diarreah but it went away.  the nausea is between my belly button and bottom of ribs. i do have some discomfort when the doc pressed on my upper abdomen below the rib cage. no pain just discomfort.  i had a abdominal ultrasound (pancreas, liver, kidneys, vena cava, aorta, spleen, gall bladder and common bile duct. all normal.  blood test with liver enzymes, cbc , h-pylori , etc. all normal.  still nauseous. i have been on nexium for a year because of acid indigestion (havent had acid indigestion since then).  i did start aspirin therapy ( 81 mg enteric coated once a day) about 2 months ago. have stopped since this started.  i also was drinking about 5 cans of diet soda a day.  my gastreonologists wants to put a tube down my throat (forgot the name of test), to check for what it might be.  he says he doubts its cancer.  i am an overweight non smoking non drinking 44 year old woman.  do you think it could be cancer???  does it sound like cancer??? what do you think it could be???

I agree with the diagnostic course thus far, and I agree with the suggestion of the upper endoscopy.

If cancer is suspected, the upper endoscopy is the appropriate test.  This can also look for GERD, inflammation of the upper digestive tract, or an ulcer.

If the upper endoscopy is negative, you can consider a 24-hr pH study or a gastric emptying scan.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
