Alphagan P questions

Hello Doctors,
Recently I was  told by my doctor that  I am risk for glaucoma. This was  based on eye pressure( 18-19 range which it has been for many years) ,  the appearance of the  optic nerves and visual field test findings..
I was prescribed Alphagan P. Does this change lightblue/gree eye color in ANY way?  I do not want even the slightest eye color change.
Also is it safe to start these drops while I wait for a second opinion with a glaucoma specialist in three weeks? Is there any permanant harm or damage done starting something that may not be necessary and then stopping them?
I am afraid to use them.
Thank you

Alphagan P will not change your eye color but can cause dry mouth and some sleepiness in certain patients.  If you are getting a second opinion, it might be best to stay off the drops to let the new  doctor see what your pressure is off the drops.  After all the second opinion is probably to see whether or not you need to be on drops at all.  As for your question, there is absolutely not harm in starting and stopping the drops.

Thank you Dr.  Kutryb,
Exactly, I am gettng the second opinion to find out if there is a true need for the drops.
Of course, I hope there is no need but  I am glad to hear it does not change eye color . My gut feeling is to wait it out three more weeks for the glaucoma expert  to get a true reading of my eyes without any meds afecting them.
I appreciate your reply..
