Amblyopia Treatment or Cure?

Hello,

I am 25 years old and I have amblyopia in my left eye. I had it all my life but I often forget its there because I never knew what good vision with both eyes was like. So pretty much all it looks like to me is like opening my eyes under water in my left eye. I was great at baseball all my life untill people started throwing curveballs and I got older. I dont have good depth perception in it and I still am wondering about my license. Are there any meetup groups for people with this and are there any treatments that work or cures? I tried the eyepatch when i was younger but no results.

Thanks for your time.

Thank you.  In fact, I was referring to strabismus.  Can you tell us, please, what are the most common causes of amblyopia?

You may have surgery for strabismus-eyes moving or pointing in the incorrect position. Strabismus is a cause of amblyopia, but not the most common cause.

Adults, as well as children, can have surgery for this.  You would need to consult an eye surgeon to see what the prospects would be for improving your vision.  At worst, it helps cosmetically.

Best thing I can tell you is that the amblyopic eye is still a good eye. Just because it doesn't see clearly, it is still seeing for you. Shapes, peripheral images, etc are all being detected by this eye. There are support groups out there, but I can't make any recommendations, sorry. You shouldn't have any problem obtaining a DL.
Best wishes,
