CATARACTS CAUSED BY STEROIDS

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CUSHINGS DISEASE AFTER APPROXIMATELY6 YEARS OF TROUBLING SYMPTOMS. HAD PITUITARY ADENOMA REMOVED. EYESIGHT WAS SOMEWHAT DIMINISHED. AT SAME TIME AN OCCIPITAL LOBE TUMER WAS DIAGNOSED AND AFTER APPROXIMATELY 910 MO.HAD SURGERY TO REMOVE IT. LOST ALL PERIPHERAL VISION ON BOTH SIDES AND WAS DECLARED LEGALLY BLIND. OVER THIS LAST 3 MO. MY VISION STARTED TO BECOME DARKER AND VERY BLURRY. AFTER EYE TESTING AGAIN ( WHICH I HAD JUST HAD DONE 2-3 MO PRIOR) I AM NOW DIAGNOSED WITH CATARACTS CAUSED BY STEROIDS, VERY FAST GROWING. I CAN BARELY SEE NOW AND I AM WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY TYPE OF SURGERY TO REMOVE THEM?  I MUST ALSO SAY I HAVE NO MED INS. NOT ABLE TO PAY (NO JOB). I HAVE APPLIED FOR SSI AND IT IS A LOOONG PROCESS. CUSHINGS DISEASE HAS RUINED ME.

I'm very sorry for your condition. Please look up the Eye Care Foundation of America website. There are doctors who will help you. You probably need cataract surgery and fortunately this is a quick procedure which can drastically help you. If you have pituitary disease or optic chiasm disease and/or occipital lobe disease then you may have some level of neurologic blindness which won't be improved with cataract surgery completely.
I hope this helps,
