I recently suffered a blunt force trauma to my right eye. I have very blurry vision, severe headaches, dizziness and nausea, sharp pain, white light flashes and very sensitive to light. Is this a permanent thing?
I suffered a similar injury. I got hit in the eye socket from a spiked volleyball. I had the flashing lights etc. You need to see an ophthalmologist immediately as you may have a detached retina. This can be fixed by laser if you address it promptly. Luckily, mine was just bruised and didn't detach. I did have a vitreous detachment later which also had flashing light symptoms. So, I would advise you to see a doctor immediately to determine what happened. Good luck to you.
Not it is not likely to be permanant HOWEVER it is extremely important to have a complete dilated eye exam to rule out a retinal detachment or other eye injury. The flashing lights are a common symptom of retinal detachment and you did suffer a significant blunt trauma.
