Crystalens accomidation?

At my age, 74, wearing bifocals for 20 years or so, farsighted +2.50, +2.75, astigmatism -1.25, -1.00, and 2.25 add for both eyes, what are the odds that my ciliary muscles would be capable of causing accommodation with the Crystalens?   Is there any way the surgeon can check/test the strength beforehand?

There's really no test ahead of time. The crystalens (Trulign in this case since you have astigmatism) is a great lens, but you will still need some form of reading glasses for Near Vision, but it should improve your Distance and Intermediate Vision.

Avoiding halos and glare seems more important than having to wear readers for close vision.  I can always increase the font size on my Kindle PW if the print is too small for reading.
But, if accommodation is dependent on a muscle that hasn't been exercised for years, I would hate to end up with an expensive monofocal IOL.
If the Synchrony ever arrives in the US, will it have a Toric version?
