Eye Problem

When my son was two yrs of age a piece of glass got into his eye,he rubbed his eye, fortunately i saw the glass and took it out.took him to the Optometrist who referred him to an Eye Specialist, been taking him there since he was two. There was an improvement because the problem changed his eye colour to red,he is under treatment, now using eye drops everyday,he is now eight yrs.Last year there was something the doctors called the foreign body that developed in his eye and it was removed.what ive noticed is that if he is not using the medication properly the foreign body appears. My question is,does this mean therefore that my son will depend on medication for the rest of his life?

I don't know why the foreign body still seems to be there although it was removed.  Also you don't say what drops he is on and for what reason he is taking them.  If you are concerned, you should seek a second opinion with another ophthalmologist, perhaps a pediatric ophthalmologist.

The drops hes using  now are FML and Allergen. The foreign body and sometines the white membrane around the black area of the eye appeares when he is using one medication for a long time, like the drops are for a six months period, after six months he will go for a check-up and if there is nothing wrong he will continue using the same drops but if there is a change in his eyes the medication will also change.
